How tuition works

Tuition follows the lesson: its length, its format and your teacher. The front desk gives you the figures after your placement visit and in writing before you register.

  • Tuition depends on the length of the lesson (30, 45 or 60 minutes), whether it is private or shared with one other student, and the teacher. The front desk tells you the figures once a teacher has been matched with you.

  • Registration

A yearly registration covers your student file, the placement visit and your place on a teacher's schedule. It is due when you register, and the front desk will tell you the amount.

  • Billing

Tuition is billed monthly, in advance, through our enrollment page, and autopay is available. Your first invoice explains the months that include a school closure.

  • Missed classes and make-ups

If you let us know at least 24 hours ahead, your teacher offers a make-up lesson within the term. A lesson missed without notice is not made up. If a teacher cancels, the lesson is made up or credited.

  • Withdrawing

We ask for a month's written notice before your last lesson, by email or at the front desk. We settle a term in progress with you in writing.

  • Siblings

A second student in the same family is handled differently. Ask the front desk when you register.

  • Uniforms, costumes and other costs

Instrument rental and music books are separate from tuition. Your teacher tells you which books you need, and we rent some instruments by the month. Ask your teacher before you rent or buy an instrument elsewhere.

Formats

Private and shared lessons

Most students take a private lesson. A shared lesson suits two students of a similar level, such as friends or a parent and child.

  • Private lessons

One student with one teacher, for 30, 45 or 60 minutes a week.

  • Shared lessons

Two students with one teacher, for 45 or 60 minutes a week.

  • Theory and ear training

A weekly class of up to eight students. Not made up when missed.

Ask the front desk about tuition

Book a placement visit, or call, and we will explain it in writing before you register.
